Aussie YA Blog Hop!

Aussie YA Blog Hop!

This week, Aussie bloggers are sharing the love for #LoveOzYA and their favourite Aussie YA reads with this blog hop hosted by Jeann of Happy Indulgence and the rest of the Aussie YA Bloggers and Readers Group mods.  I love this community of Aussie bloggers that we have but I haven’t really been a part of it for a while now.  I thought this blog hop would be a good way to get back into blogging, by sharing the books I love most and the blogs I stalk read religiously.  So here we go! 1. What you love about Aussie YA I adore how relatable it is!  It’s set in places I’ve been to or know about, and the characters remind me […]

Well, 2015 is over and it’s time to take a look at my year in reading.  What better way to do that than with the End of Year Book Survey, hosted by Jamie of The Perpetual Page-Turner and in its 6th year!  Here goes… Number Of Books You Read: 83 🙂 I totally kicked butt at my Goodreads challenge of 50 books!  You can see them all here. Number of Re-Reads: 24 rereads this year, which is waaaay more than last year!  I made a conscious effort to reread this year, and it paid off 🙂 Genre You Read The Most From: Contemporary, both YA and Adult – although the last couple of months has been all about the fantasy, […]

Hi guys!  I love a good book swap and Christmas seems to bring out the best with the extra element of Secret Santa!  Last year I took part in the Secret Santa run by The Broke and the Bookish, but this year I’ve decided to stick a little closer to home.  I’ve signed up for the Aussie YA Bloggers & Readers’ Secret Santa, which is back for its second year, and I’m super excited about it! As part of the Australian YA Bloggers & Readers Secret Santa Blog Hop, they like to know whether everyone’s been a good or naughty blogger this year.  After all, Santa only gives pressies to the good bloggers, and the naughty ones get lumps of […]

Chase the Brighter Days {1}: Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson

Chase the Brighter Days {1}: Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson

Welcome to my new feature, Chase the Brighter Days!  The title comes from my favourite Taylor Henderson song, Brighter Days, which is all about chasing those brighter days in your life, and I equate that with travelling.  What I love about reading is the way it allows me to travel to many different towns, cities, countries and worlds, all from the comfort of my home.  I love to travel but I don’t get to do it as much as I’d like, and reading helps to fuel that. Reading also inspires me to want to travel to all the amazing places I’ve read about, fictional and otherwise, and that’s what this feature is about.  I’m going to share with you guys […]

Ponderings of a Bookworm {2}: The Joys of Finishing My Goodreads Reading Challenge!

Hi guys!  Welcome to my new feature, Ponderings of a Bookworm.  It’s where I talk about different topics, bookish and non-bookish, whatever’s on my mind really!  I wanted to have an outlet to channel my thoughts, and what better place than my blog 🙂 Today’s topic is The Joys of Finishing My Goodreads Reading Challenge! Now I’m sure you all know what the Goodreads Reading Challenge is, but for those who don’t allow me to explain… Goodreads has this nifty feature that allows you to set yourself a challenge of how many books you want to read in a year, tracking your progress as you read throughout the year.  It doesn’t count rereads, because Goodreads doesn’t record that, so it’ll […]

Ponderings of a Bookworm {1}: What's With All The 5 Star Reviews?

Hi guys!  Welcome to my new feature, Ponderings of a Bookworm.  It’s where I talk about different topics, bookish and non-bookish, whatever’s on my mind really!  I wanted to have an outlet to channel my thoughts, and what better place than my blog 🙂 Today’s topic is What’s With All The 5 Star Reviews? I’ve been tidying up my blog lately, doing some overdue upkeep that I’ve put off and procrastinated on for almost a year.  Sadly, that’s nothing new for me!  One of the things I’ve been doing is updating my pages, particularly the Review pages where you can find all my reviews.  I archive my reviews on the blog three ways: by author, by title and by rating. […]
